We set out, about fifty Palestinians, Israelis and Internationals to help cultivate the lands of Halhul residents which are located near Karmei Tzur settlement. Though officially there is no dispute over the ownership rights of the Palestinians on these lands and they are not required to coordinate their work in the area, past experience has taught us that the settlers, and the soldiers and policemen under their influence, make a point of preventing the Palestinians from accessing their lands. And indeed, as soon as we arrived in the area a large force of soldiers and policemen showed up and presented us with a closed military zone order. Our group was pushed out of the land. Two activists were arrested and released that evening.
